I performed a side by side comparison of Kwik Strip, Watco and CitriStrip paint and varnish removers or strippers. They were all applied to a Mid Century Modern dresser that had been painted twice with latex or enamel paint. Therefore, these strippers had to remove 2 layers of paint, one layer of primer plus the original stain and finish.
I was surprised by several things while doing this test of strippers. Click on the link below to view the video and see for yourself my experience with these three strippers.
To see the results of the dresser I stripped in this video, you can watch it on YouTube:
Listed below are the Safety Sheets for the three strippers that were tested:
SUPPLIES USED IN THIS VIDEO:
Watco Paint and Varnish Remover at Walmart
Additional products I find helpful in flipping furniture:
5in Clear stretch wrap film (to protect furniture for transportation)
18 in clear stretch wrap film (to protect furniture for transportation)
22 in wooden drawer slide (cut to fit)
Please read all labels and follow all manufacturer safety recommendations when working with paints, stains, and other equipment and wear and use appropriate personal protection equipment. Viewers should attempt these projects at their own risk.
